First Speedskating Practice on the Oval: Nov 24th!

These practices are open to all skaters of all abilities on any kind of skates. Learn to skate better and faster. Our coaches will instruct you on good technique. You’ll be amazed how much more fun and fast skating can be.

Every Tuesday. 6:30 to 7:30 PM for beginner and intermediate skaters, and 7 to 8:30 PM for more advanced skaters. All these “Long Track” practices are held on the 400-meter skating oval in the Cuddy Midtown Park.

Pre-registration is required. Sign up on the Alaska Speedskating Club website. Alaskaspeedskating.org. Click on “Register”, “Available Programs”, “Long Track Only” or “Short Track/Long Track Program” to see the options and sign up. There’s an introductory option of 2 sessions for $25. An option of 8 sessions. An option of the full 15 sessions. And an option of “Long Track” practices on the Oval in Cuddy Park plus “Short Track” skating indoors at the O’Malley Sports Center (ST/LT Program).

Long Track speedskate rentals are available from the Anchorage Skate Club.

Given the current high rates of Corona virus infections in Anchorage, social distancing and masks will be required.
