AKSSC This week in Speedskating

September 26, 2020, O’Malley Sports Center.

This week the girls dominated the ice. For once we had more girls on the ice than the boys. Some of us are still learning and others are on their edges and fast, but everyone had a great time.

Equal ice time with coaches is provided to everyone regardless of ability and age.

Tuesday night dry land training - at Cuddy Oval 6:30 PM. All ages welcome. “Dryland on Tuesday nights with Coach John has helped considerably,” one parent stated. “It is one tough workout. I loved participating with the kids!”

Saturday mornings at O’Malley Sports Center - arrive at 7:45 AM fully dressed. We are on the ice from 8 to 9:30 AM wearing masks and socially distanced.

Skating highlights

Micah - “I liked going through the tunnels.”

Collin - “Definitely the game of Sharks and Minnows!”

Lily - “I actually did a lot more cross overs today!”

Parker - “I liked all the games. They were lots of fun!”

Arielle - “It was challenging to skate backwards. I enjoyed trying that.”

Coaches comments
