Join Us!

We need people to help provide opportunities for people to enjoy this fun sport for kids and adults in Anchorage. There's lots of ways you can help out, and you don't even have to be able to skate. For our typical short track ice practices, we need help putting safety mats on the ice and taking them off. When we have races, we need starters, timers, referees, people to help with registration, and help setting up the track. We really need people with photography and video skills to help provide content. Do you have skills with social media and advertising? We need help getting the word out. 

Participate: Come skate with us! You will be a speedskater in one season - guaranteed. We also have skates to rent.

Officiate: We need volunteers to make the events and races happen. You don't even need to know how to skate.

Spectate: It's a fun sport to watch. Short track tends to be more fast and furious with more strategy. Long track can also be fast and furious, but perhaps it is more graceful. 

Donate: Ice is expensive, there are no other clubs nearby, and we receive no subsidies. Contributions to Alaska Speedskating are tax deductible.
