Alaska Speedskating Club

About Us

Alaska Speedskating Club

Our mission is to advance the sport of speedskating within Alaska. We educate individuals in the sport of speedskating as athletes, coaches, and officials. We strive to bring together Alaskans who are interested in all forms of speedskating. We welcome everyone to join us. You don’t need to wear tight lycra to enjoy the sport or participate. We provide opportunities for skaters of all ages and abilities at local, national, and international events.

Join Us

Participate: Come skate with us! You will be a speedskater in one season - guaranteed. We have skates to try out during practices and to rent.

Officiate: We need volunteers to make the events and races happen. You don't even need to know how to skate.

Spectate: It's a fun sport to watch. Short track tends to be more fast and furious with more strategy. Long track can also be fast and furious, but perhaps it is more graceful.
Donate: Ice is expensive, there are no other clubs nearby, and we receive no subsidies. Donations to the Alaska Speedskating Club are tax deductible.
